Kiruna: Ice Art & Open-Fire Lunch in the Arctic Wilderness

Your expedition begins with a transfer away from the city and into the Lapland wilderness. Depending on the weather and the day's pristine location, we will complete the final leg of our journey either by strapping on snowshoes for a short, beautiful walk through the forest, or by riding in a sled pulled behind a snowmobile.

Upon reaching our secluded wilderness spot, your guide will introduce you to and show you how to safely use professional hand-carving tools. As you immerse yourself in the creative process - focusing on the fun of the experience rather than crafting a masterpiece - your guide will build a traditional campfire.

While you carve, the rich scent of a warm Arctic stew will fill the air as it simmers over the open flames. We will take plenty of breaks to warm our hands, enjoy local snacks, and drink traditional hot beverages. To complete the experience, you will have the chance to roast your own sausages over the crackling fire, enjoying a filling and authentic wilderness lunch surrounded by your ice creations and the quiet beauty of the forest.

What's included:

• approx. 5h guided experience
• prepared ice blocks (size no less than 30x15x15 cm)
• crafting equipment (including chemical handwarmers and waterproof gloves)
• lunch made of arctic soup/stew + moose sausages to roast over bonfire
• local snacks and hot beverages
• pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation or agreed meeting points

What's not included:

• warm overalls (available to rent for additional price during booking process)
• insulated winter boots (available to rent for additional price during booking process)

Before you book:

• Please dress up warmly, according to expected outside conditions - few layers + spare socks etc. are highly recommended
• Warm, arctic overalls are usually available at your accommodation place, sometimes even included in the price of stay. If not and you feel you need it to be able to stay outside, you may rent one of ours. Price is 350 SEK, however we need to be contacted AT LEAST 24h before tour starts (if you book within 24h period, contact us immediately after creating booking!)
• Please be aware of the character of our meal and contact us to discuss vegetarian option
• It's quite long time outdoor activity - please take that into consideration when booking

What to bring:

• Warm clothes, extra socks, winter gloves (we provide you with waterproof ones, but it's always better to have more than not enough!)
• We provide hot beverages, but feel free to take extra proviant/drinks accordingly to your needs :)
