Discover the ultimate winter day trip by venturing out to Svappavaara, a peaceful wilderness area located just 40 minutes from Kiruna. Designed for those who want more than just a passive sightseeing tour, this experience blends the serene beauty of the Arctic with active, hands-on fun.

We start by picking you up in Kiruna and driving to our base camp. Here, you will be outfitted with thermal winter gear, including boots, overalls and a helmet. Once everyone is ready, you will board our passenger sled. Your guide will navigate the snowmobile through dense pine forests and across frozen expanses for about 40 minutes, bringing you to a remote, untouched location.

Once we reach our destination, it is time to hit the snow. We will inflate our heavy-duty snow tubes for approx. 1.5 hours of winter activities. You can race down natural snowy inclines or grab a tow rope to be pulled across the snow by the snowmobile - a guaranteed highlight for thrill-seekers of all ages.

As you enjoy the snow tubes, your guide will prepare a crackling campfire. Gather around the flames to warm your hands, share stories and enjoy a classic wilderness lunch of grilled sausages paired with hot beverages. After soaking in the silence of the taiga, we will pack up and enjoy the scenic 40-minute sled ride back to base. You will change out of your winter gear before we drive you safely back to Kiruna.

Highlights:

  • Ride in a comfortable sled through the remote Arctic taiga.
  • Glide down snowy hills on an exhilarating snowtube.

  • Gliding on snow tubes is NOT mandatory - if you prefer to avoid sliding, you can still have a great time riding in the sled and enjoying lunch in an Arctic wilderness!
