Prepare for a massive, 14-hour road trip designed for travellers who want to see the absolute best of the Arctic in a single, unforgettable day. Limited to a maximum of 6 guests in a 9-seater van, this is a true wilderness safari, far away from the crowded big-bus tours.

The Morning in Abisko

We start early from Kiruna, driving deep into the pristine Arctic wilderness. Our first major stop is Abisko National Park, where we will explore the rugged canyon and its stunning frozen waterfall during the magical "Blue Hour." From there, we ascend into the alpine tundra for an early, hearty Swedish lunch at Björkliden, overlooking the iconic Lapporten mountain gates.

The Border & The Fjords

Next, we cross the dramatic Riksgränsen mountain pass into Norway. Watch the climate instantly shift as we descend to the Atlantic coast. We will explore the deep, ice-free waters of the Skjomen Fjord and the Narvik coastline. Historically, these massive, sheer cliffs and deep waters were used as hiding spots for WWII battleships and submarines. Today, they offer some of the most breathtaking photography landscapes on earth.

Evening in Narvik & The Aurora Chase

After a warming Norwegian dinner in Narvik, the sun sets and the real hunt begins. Driving back toward Sweden gives us a massive geographical advantage: if it's cloudy on the Norwegian coast, it is often clear in the Swedish mountains (and vice versa). We will use our expert knowledge of local micro-climates to track down the Aurora Borealis, stopping at the darkest viewpoints to photograph the Northern Lights dancing over the Arctic landscape.

What's included:
  • Round-trip transport in a spacious, 9-seater van (max 6 guests)
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in Kiruna
  • Guided sightseeing in Abisko National Park and the Norwegian Fjords
  • Swedish Mountain Lunch in Björkliden
  • Norwegian Coastal Dinner in Narvik
  • Northern Lights chasing and photography assistance
  • Snacks during the ride
  • Hot beverages during the Aurora hunt
  • Photos taken by the guide available for free after the tour

Important before you book:
  • This tour involves long stretches of driving between stops. For these reasons, the experience is not suitable for individuals prone to motion sickness or those with circulatory issues. Also, please take the extensive duration of the trip into account and make an informed decision.
  • Minimum amount of people needed to start this tour is 3. Cut off for bookings is 24h, which means if you booked and there's not enough participants, you will be informed by us 24h earlier (with a full refund sent immediately) - that gives you enough time to stress-free book one of other activities.

Weather, Road Closures & The "Arctic Expedition" Policy

This is a true Arctic expedition. The route from Swedish Lapland to the Norwegian Fjords crosses a high-alpine mountain pass (E10), which can be closed suddenly by authorities due to blizzards, high winds, or avalanche risks. Safety is our ultimate priority. In order to avoid getting stuck in Norway, we will never start activity if there's significant risk of border closure.

However, if the border road is closed AFTER we already started the tour and we cannot safely reach the Norwegian fjords:

We will immediately activate our 'Plan B' Swedish Arctic Explorer itinerary.

You will receive an extended, guided exploration of Abisko National Park, an alternative premium dinner in Swedish Lapland, and a deeper Aurora Chase.

Because you will miss the Norwegian segment, you will automatically receive a pre-calculated 20% partial refund of your ticket price.

By booking this tour, you acknowledge and agree to this weather policy. In the Arctic, nature dictates the rules. If the road closes, we do not issue full refunds, but we guarantee an epic, full-day Swedish Lapland adventure in its place.

What to bring:
  • Passport or ID (when EU citizen) is absolutely necessary - please, don't risk being halted at the border
  • Winter clothes and boots - while being in the car you don't need them, when the time comes and we go for hike/short "climb", you're going to need them. Also, being outside during Aurora chase, requires warm clothes.
  • We provide snacks and hot beverages during the tour, but feel free to take your own favourites. It's a long trip and most of the time we're far away from any shops or restaurants.
  • Our car has multiple charging ports and we know you're going to need them :) Please, bring your charging cable with you.
